The Institute for Quality Assurance and Educational Development (LPMPP) held an offline ” SNI ISO 15189:2012 Accreditation Preparation Workshop” for the HUMRC Laboratory on 27-28 October 2023 in the Hall of the Unhas Medical Faculty in order to build and implement a culture of quality and to encourage more laboratories. within the scope of Hasanuddin University to obtain accreditation from the National Accreditation Committee (KAN). In carrying out Medical Laboratory Accreditation based on SNI ISO 15189:2012, this authority is carried out by the National Accreditation Committee (KAN). SNI ISO 15189:2012 is the result of the adoption of ISO 15189:2012 concerning “Medical Laboratories Particular Requirements for Quality and Competence” which sets specific quality and competency requirements for medical laboratories. Where these standards are used by medical laboratory managers in developing quality management systems and to assess medical laboratory competency and are used as a basis and reference for the Accreditation Body (KAN) in determining or recognizing the competency of a medical laboratory.

In this workshop, Taufiq Hidayat, S.Si as the National Standardization Analyst explained the purpose and objective of this workshop is to provide understanding and knowledge of the standardization of SNI ISO 15189:2012-Special Requirements for Quality and Competency of Medical Laboratories, providing knowledge and ability to manage , related to the management requirements and technical requirements of SNI ISO 15189:2012-Special Requirements for Quality and Competency of Medical Laboratories, equipping laboratory human resources to be able to understand the concepts of SNI ISO 15189:2012-Special Requirements for Quality and Competency of Medical Laboratories as well as the planning that must be carried out in in order to carry out the accreditation process for KAN, providing knowledge and understanding to participants so that they are able to prepare and control SNI ISO 15189:2012- Special Requirements for Quality and Competency of Medical Laboratories that have been and will be built, including the documentation system and implementation of the system, participants know step by step medical laboratory accreditation process and is expected to be able to prepare and bring the laboratory to be accredited to SNI ISO 15189:2012- Special Requirements for Quality and Competency of Medical Laboratories by the National Accreditation Committee (KAN).
