Two Study Programs at the Faculty of Dentistry Undergo the ASIIN Cluster C Accreditation Process

Hasanuddin University received a visit from assessors in the framework of an assessment from the international accreditation agency ASIIN (Akkreditierungsagentur für Studiengänge der Ingenieurwissenschaften, der Informatik, der Naturwissenschaften und der Mathematik). The Master of Dentistry Study Program and the Specialist Dentist Education Program (PPDGS) for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery will be the last cluster to undergo the ASIIN assessment stage within Hasanuddin University in 2024.
Attending this activity, the Rector of Unhas, Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa, M.Sc., Chairperson of the Unhas Board of Trustees (MWA), members of the Academic Senate, Vice Chancellors, Heads of Institutions and their staff, Directors and their staff, and the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry and his staff. The event was officially opened in the 4th Floor Meeting Room of the Rectorate Building, Tamalanrea Unhas Campus, on Wednesday (5/6).

Starting the activity, Prof. Jamaluddin Jompa as Rector of Unhas expressed his welcome to ASIIN assessors and underlined that this accreditation process is not only about international recognition, but also how to improve the quality of education at Unhas and strengthen its relevance to the global job market. Furthermore, Prof. Jamaluddin Jompa emphasized that international accreditation such as ASIIN will provide assurance that the curriculum taught at Unhas is in accordance with global standards. Ensuring that study programs are not only nationally relevant but also internationally recognized. So that it will open up greater opportunities for graduates to be able to compete in the global job market.
Thus the accreditation process is a continuous effort to maintain and improve the quality of education, improve itself, always innovate and adapt to the development of science and technology,
After the speech, the activity continued with a discussion from the ASIIN assessors. The discussion covered a wide range of issues such as educational objectives, curriculum, teaching methods, guidance and support for students, examination organization, study outcomes, and the relevance of the program to the job market.
This activity went smoothly until 14.30 Wita and continued with the assessor’s visit to each accredited study program. The assessment process is scheduled to last for two days. The final meeting of ASIIN Assessors with the Program Coordinator and Rector Representative of Hasanuddin University took place at 15.30 Wita in the Senate Meeting Room on the 2nd Floor of the Unhas Rectorate Building, Tamalanrea Campus, on Thursday (06/06). In the closing session, the ASIIN assessor team presented the results of the general field assessment report which lasted until 16.30 Wita.
With the closing of the ASIIN visitation, Hasanuddin University marks an important achievement in its journey towards international standards, with a commitment to continue to innovate and adapt in the face of global challenges. Unhas is optimistic that it can realize its vision as a world-class education and research center that produces graduates with the competence to compete internationally.
