Makassar, May 20, 2024 – Lembaga Penjaminan Mutu dan Pengembangan Pendidikan (LPMPP) Universitas Hasanuddin (Unhas) received a visit from the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Keguruan UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya (UINSA-Surabaya) in the context of benchmarking activities. This activity was held in Meeting Room “A” LPMPP Unhas with the aim of strengthening the competitiveness of study programs through an internal quality assurance system to achieve international certification.

The delegation from the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Keguruan UINSA-Surabaya consisted of nine people, namely Prof. Dr. Hj Jauharoti Alfin, S.Pd, M.Si (Vice Dean for AUPK), Moh. Faizin, M.Pd.I (Head of the Language Education Department), Afida Safriani, M.A., Ph.D (Secretary of the Department of Language Education), Dr. Siti Lailiyah, M.Si (Head of the MIPA Education Department), Dr. Aning Wida Yanti, S.Si, M.Pd (Secretary of the MIPA Education Department), M. Nuril Huda, M.Pd (Head of the Islamic Education Department), Dr. Nur Wakhidah, M.Si (Secretary of the Islamic Education Department), Dr. Sihabuddin, M.Pd.I (Head of the Basic Education Department), and Sulton Mas’ud, S.Ag, M.Pd.I (Secretary of the Basic Education Department).

The team from LPMPP Unhas who welcomed the guests consisted of Prof. Dr. Ir. Musrizal Muin, M.Sc as Chairman of LPMPP Unhas, Rini Rachmawaty, S.Kep., Ns., MN., Ph.D as Secretary of LPMPP, and the Heads of Division: Prof. Dr. Yusring Sanusi B, S.S., M.App.Ling (Head of Curriculum and Learning Development Division), Prof. Dr. Kasbawati, S.Si., M.Si (Head of Accreditation Management Division), and Dr. Phil. Nat. Sri Widodo, ST, MT (Head of Internal Quality Assurance Division).

The event was opened by Prof. Musrizal Muin who conveyed the importance of collaboration and benchmarking in an effort to improve the quality of education and international competitiveness. He emphasized that a strong internal quality assurance system is the key to achieving international accreditation and certification desired by various study programs.

Prof. Jauharoti Alfin in her speech stated that the purpose of this benchmarking is to learn the best practices implemented by LPMPP Unhas in quality assurance and educational development. “We hope to adopt successful strategies from LPMPP Unhas to be applied at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Keguruan UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya,” she said.

During the discussion session, both parties shared information and experiences related to the quality assurance process, accreditation management, and curriculum development relevant to international standards. This discussion is expected to provide new insights for the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Keguruan UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya in an effort to improve the quality of education and achieve international certification.

This benchmarking activity ended with the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two institutions as a form of commitment to continue to cooperate in the development of education and quality assurance. Hopefully, through this collaboration, the two institutions can support each other and develop towards higher educational standards.
